Gender
Part of what determines auto insurance premiums is the driver's gender.
Men tend to drive more and subsequently are involved in more accidents.
Insurance companies normally use the same rates for female and male
adults and pass the discount for less accidents off to reduce the surcharge
for younger women drivers. Young males, until the age of 25, generally
carry high premiums especially when the insured's vehicle is a sports
car or a vehicle known to be fast.
